Adeline Wede King Wesley

I will lift up mine eyes to the hills, from whence cometh my help.

Her transition to glory took place on August 7, 2020, in Monrovia, Liberia.

Mrs. Adeline W. Wesley was a servant of God, who served her family; her churches: Good Shepherd Episcopal and the Episcopal Archdiocese of Liberia and her nation, Liberia, serving as a nurse, nursing instructor, finally retiring as head nurse and administrator of JFK Medical Center at 42 years of service in 1994.

Moreover, she served humanity by fostering, educating, and caring for so many.

—Mommy, Mama, Mamagrand, Ol’Ma, Aunty Adeline, Ms. Wesley (as she was affectionately called) we love you and will miss you so much.

We are assured,however, that you are resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father, and were welcomed home by your parents and you are now reunited with your dear husband; your beloved sons: Tonie and Eddie, and all the other family members and friends who have gone before.

What a joyful reunion that must have been.

We thank and bless God for your life.

Thank you for leaving such a wonderful legacy that we are proud of and which we will strive to emulate in honor of your memory.

We love you but we know God loves you best —

Mrs. Adeline Wede Wesley is survived by her children: Odell Marie King; Sharon Wede Wesley (Larry); Willye Mai Tolbert-King (widow of Tonie); several grand and great-grandchildren including Adeline “Notose" Wesley, Sekou Edward King (Christina); Tonie Mai King-Andrews (Jimmy); Maima Radcliffe; WillyAnn J. King; Tiffany J. King; her stepson Lowell A. Wesley (Lucy), Rowena Wesley Godu and James Roberts, who she raised as her own; her dedicated Yvonne and Varney as well as many fostered children, relatives and friends in Liberia, the U.S and the diaspora.

Services for her final rest are planned for Friday, September 4, 2020.

Due to the present Covid pandemic, the funeral service attendance will be restricted in adherence to the social-distancing guidelines and measures.
