Mother Cerue Mason Tah

“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no HOPE. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14.

The Tah, Mason, Stewart, Jackson, Greene, Paygai, Travis and Harvey families announce with profound sadness but with thanksgiving the glorious home going of our beloved and cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Mother Cerue Mason Tah. She was affectionately called Ma Cerue, Miss Cerue, Mama Cerue, Woman of God, darling aunty.

This sad event occurred on Monday, April 5, 2021 at the hospital in Accra, Ghana. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Borbor Tah, her mother, Mary E Stewart, father, James Mason, mother in law Brokan Canweah, brother T. Wesley Herron, sister Aletha Mason, brother in law J. Wesseh Tah and sister in law Mabel Boyd.

She leaves to mourn her 5 children: Mayme Tah Zayzay (Gilbert), Prince Tah (Latisha), Paula Tah-Sherman, Richelieu B. Tah (Teebeh) and Olivia F. Tah Johnson(Charles), 10 grandchildren: Aloysius Zayzay, , Gloria Zayzay Dole (Cecil), Gideon B. Zayzay, Shupan Tah, Reagan Anderson, Dekonte Princess Tah, Prince Tah Jr., Christa J. Sherman, William C.Z. Sherman, Richella J. Tah, Richelieu Tah, Jr., Rudelle Tah, Charlvia Johnson, Charles Johnson Jr., and Cerue J. Johnson, 6 great grandchildren: Harriet, Alicia, Princess, Sammy, Mason and baby Cerue Dole who graced our family 3 days after mama went to glory. Also left to mourn are two sisters: Regina Yorksay and Charlesetta Johnson, brother in law: F.Octawie Tah(Carolyn Hicks Tah), Reuben Paygai (Gertude) and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends around the world.

Mother Cerue’s legacy stands as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother but the most important being a true follower of Christ. She let her LIGHT so shine that others saw Christ through her.

We love you so very much mama Jesus loves you even more. The Lord has received you in his loving arms saying “Well Done, thy Good and Faithful Servant, Well Done”. Take your rest until we meet again.
