What is Kaiser Memorial Lawn Cemetery?
Kaiser Memorial Lawn Cemetery is Liberia's first quality state of the art cemetery designed from the bottom up to provide the greater Liberian community with a beautiful and secure place to inter their precious deceased loved ones. We also provide prepaid packages for those who wish to provide for their own future arrangements.
Why did you decide to open Kaiser Memorial Lawn Cemetery?
The Liberian community deserves to have a serene and decent place to bury their loved ones. Before our cemetery opened Liberia was sorely lacking such a facility. We are here to fulfill that need.
Where does the name "Kaiser" come from?
This post made on the Kaiser Facebook page explains where the name "Kaiser" came from.
How do you determine your prices?
We make every effort to keep our prices as low as possible. We realize that when you lose a loved one the last thing you want to be thinking about is the high cost of interring your loved one. But unfortunately doing business in Liberia is a very expensive proposition. And there are many expenses associated with running a modern state of the art cemetery. But in an effort to allow everybody the ability to afford a decent burial package we provide the Green Package which is priced to allow us to barely break even on our expenses. We also provide other packages that are reasonably priced. For more details on our pricing please refer to our homepage. Or email us for more information. Why is my headstone order taking so long to be completed?
We apologize for the inconvenience. We are doing our best to expedite headstone orders. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic all of our headstone vendors are experiences backlogs. We only provide the highest quality headstones and unfortunately producing the headstone takes time and due to excess deaths caused by the pandemic headstone makers are at capacity and orders are taking longer. Then to add to the problem the pandemic is causing supply chain issues and shipping delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
What days of the week is the cemetery open for burials?
Burials are normally held Tuesday through Saturday. There is an extra $300 charge for Sunday burials and an extra $200 charge for Monday burials.
Do you offer cremation packages?
Yes we offer cremation packages. For more information please refer to our homepage.
Do you allow customers to bring their own headstones? Are headstones included in burial packages or are they billed separately?
We provide a variety of beautiful and durable headstones at various price points. Headstones vary in price so we cannot include headstones with the burial packages. Headstones must be purchased separately. In order to maintain good quality control we do not allow our customers to bring their own headstones. Only headstones that we provide may be used. Please contact us for more information. Thank you.
Do you offer photos of the burials in an online photo album?
Yes, we can add photos of the burial of your loved one to the Kaiser Memorial Lawn Cemetery photo album at no extra charge. Our staff can take photos or you can provide your own. You will have the option of making the photos public for all to see or private for your personal use only.
What if I cannot afford the full cost of a burial? Can I make a partial payment or pay later?
We are running a business and as previously indicated we make every effort to keep our prices low. However we need you to pay in advance of the burial so that we can begin preparations for the burial so that it can be done in a timely manner. We will try to work with you however and in most cases something can be worked out.
Do you have a meeting hall on the cemetery grounds?
Constructing a meeting hall is in our future expansion plans. In the mean time our staff can assist you in finding a suitable meeting hall located off from the cemetery grounds.
Can food or drinks be brought to the cemetery?
No kinds of food or drinks may be brought to the cemetery, except that bottled water can be brought for close family members at the time of the burial. No plastic bag water.
How much notice do you require before a burial takes place?
Normally we require at least a ten day advance notice. Under special circumstances our staff can help you arrange for a more timely burial for a $500 surcharge. The surcharge is necessary since we would incur extra staff expenses in such cases.
