The death of Ambassador. Dr. Jonathan Samuel Gato Reffell, Ambassador at large, Former Minister of State, Former Consul General to New York is announced.
Ambassador Reffell died at the SOS Clinic in Congo Town at 3:00 A. M. July 26, 2011. He leaves to mourn the President of the Republic of Liberia H. E. Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, all ambassadors, all staff of the Foreign Ministry, his wife Charlotte Cooper Reffell and children Barbara Reffell Jacobs, Sydia Ladybird Reffell Cromer, Joyce Reffell, Manyuan Reffellell Pawell, Victoria Jenessa Reffell, Joel Samuel Reffell, Andrew Johnson, Amos Reffell, grandchildren, sisters Preal Reffell, Daisy Reffell Gilpin, Princess Reffell, Monica Reffell, Nancy Reffell, brothers Moses Reffell, Frances Reffell, Prince Reffell, a host of nephews and nieces, in laws Capt. Darlo Gilpin, Dr. AbibTejan Conteh, other relatives and friends, the Reffells in Sierra Leone and Liberia, the Flahn family of Grand Bassa County and Monrovia, the Jimmy Barroll family, the Reeves family, the Shermans, the Burphies, the Barclays, the Ketters, the Yeaneys, the Coopers, close friends Father Tipor, Ambassador Tappeh, Ambassador Lois Brutos, Counsellor Leroy Urey, Hon. Funeral services will take place at the First United Methodist Church at the corner of Ashmun and Gurley Streets at 10 A. M., Saturday August 20, 2011.
Burial will take place at the Kaiser Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Brewerville on August 20th in plot #1222 near his son Virgil Reffell.
